Chocolate Fountains in the News

"Chocolate Connection" from the Daily Press & Argus in Brighton, Michigan posted on October 25, 2004

Choosing who, what, when, where and how are up to the bride and groom.  But the question of what to feed everyone becomes a stickler.  "It comes down to the budget they have and what they can provide for their guests," Denise O'Kopski, general manager of Mystic Creek Golf Club, says.  "Dessert is usually wedding cake or possibly some pastries.  Some have a full dessert table.  Fruit can be served also."

Gaining in popularity as an economical choice is the chocolate fountain.

"It is visually appealing and all ages enjoy dipping savory delights into the chocolate," Denise Schwartz, owner of Brighton's Chocolate Connection said.

"All it takes is one look at the creamy cascading cocoa confection and you can understand why it is all the buzz at social events.  Everyone loves chocolate."

The fountain pumps 25 pounds of premium Belgian chocolate.  Milk, dark and white chocolate can be used, with food coloring available to color-coordinate with the event's theme.

Items used for dipping include strawberries, bananas, cream puffs, Rice Krispy treats, Oreo cookies, marshmallows, pretzel rods, potato chips, peanut brittle and more.

"The possibilities are endless," Schwartz laughed.
